1. Remove the Standard Extension Set, Length 30", Standard Bore, Luer Lock from sterile packaging aseptically.
2. Inspect tubing and connectors for defects.
3. Connect the female end to the IV catheter hub.
   • Luer Lock: thread until snug, then quarter-turn to lock.
4. Connect the male Luer end to your administration set.
5. Prime by allowing fluid to fill the extension tubing, displacing all air
6. Secure tubing to the patient's limb to minimize movement at the catheter site.
7. To administer medication: swab the injection site, attach your syringe, and inject slowly.
8. Replace per your facility's IV line change policy.
