Features & Benefits
CardiSure™ provides veterinarians with a fast, reliable, and easy-to-use point of care tool for assessing cardiac health in dogs and cats. Using NT proBNP biomarker detection, CardiSure helps clinicians identify abnormal cardiac stress earlier in the diagnostic process, improving decision making during both routine and urgent visits.
Both the CardiSure™ Feline and CardiSure™ Canine tests use a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay to detect NT proBNP levels in whole blood, serum, or plasma. NT proBNP is a key indicator of myocardial stretch and cardiac dysfunction, making CardiSure™ an efficient way to differentiate potential cardiac causes of cough, dyspnea, or exercise intolerance. The test produces clear, qualitative results in 15 to 20 minutes, allowing immediate clinical action without specialized equipment.
Validated against commercial control testing, CardiSure™ demonstrates strong performance, with both feline and canine assays; Canine Sensitivity 95%, Canine Specificity 96%. Feline Sensitivity 94%, Feline Specificity 97%. Internal control lines ensure test validity with each run, while the included color card enables easy comparison of normal versus abnormal NT proBNP levels.
Whether performing routine screening, evaluating symptomatic patients, or enhancing pre anaesthetic assessments, CardiSure helps veterinary teams integrate cardiac screening seamlessly into everyday care.

How To
1.Prepare the test
Allow the test cassette, buffer, and sample to reach room temperature before use.
2.Collect the sample
Use fresh whole blood, or separate serum or plasma as soon as possible to avoid hemolysis. Only clear, non-hemolytic samples should be used.
3.Open and place the cassette
Remove the test from its foil pouch immediately before use and place it on a clean, flat surface.
4.Apply the sample
Add 2 drops of whole blood (approximately 80 μL), or add 1 drop of serum or plasma (approximately 40 μL).
5.Add buffer
Immediately add 2 drops of buffer (approximately 80 μL) into the sample well. Start the timer.
6.Read the results
Interpret results at 15–20 minutes. Do not interpret after 30 minutes.

- CardiSure™ is useful for:
- Screening at-risk or asymptomatic patients
- Evaluating cough, dyspnea, or exercise intolerance
- Differentiating cardiac vs non-cardiac causes of respiratory signs
- Pre-anaesthetic assessment
- Monitoring chronic cardiac patients
- Compare the T line intensity to the included color card:
- Normal: T line absent or lighter than the reference
- Abnormal: T line equal to or darker than the reference
- Internal C and R lines confirm a valid test.
No. NT-proBNP is a screening and decision-support tool. Results should always be interpreted alongside the full clinical picture, including physical exam, imaging, and other diagnostics.
No. Tests are single-use and components should not be mixed between lots.
The test works with whole blood, serum, or plasma, giving clinics flexibility based on workflow and available equipment.
No. CardiSure™ tests are species-specific. Use the CardiSure™ Feline test for cats and the CardiSure™ Canine test for dogs to ensure accurate results.
