1. Verify your infusion pump is a Baxter or compatible B-Series model before using the Needle-free IV administration sets (B-Series), Length 70", 60DP.
2. Open packaging aseptically. Inspect the set before use.
3. Close the roller clamp, then spike the fluid bag firmly.
4. Squeeze the drip chamber to fill it ~halfway.
5. Prime the tubing by slowly opening the roller clamp until fluid reaches the distal end and all air is expelled.
6. Close the clamp and connect to the patient's catheter or extension set.
7. Load the tubing segment into the B-Series pump per manufacturer instructions.
8. Program rate and total volume, then start infusion.
9. Administer medications through the needle-free site(s) using a compatible needleless syringe.
10. Replace per your facility's IV set change protocol."
