Yes, the Saf-T-Shield e-collar is a great option for temporary use, however, many pets have a better e-collar experience in a Preferred Collection long-term cone. This collar is also particularly rigid and wide, making it difficult to wear in spaces like a kennel.

Due to this e-collars wide-set shape, it can be paired with a second e-collar for additional protection. For some pets needing full body protection as well as their ears, it can easily be paired with a No Flap Ear Wrap.

Watch our video on how to apply the Saf-T-Shield. This recovery cone has clasps along the short end of the e-collar (when laid flat). They can be clasped into the clasp bases on the other short end of the cone to create a funnel shape. Be sure to use buttons in the same column for proper closure.

This e-collar is slightly more dense than alternative e-collars to retain its’ shape with a wider opening. Don’t worry! We made sure that even the smallest size Saf-T-Shield doesn’t weigh down our littlest companion animals.

These snaps are like durable button snap closures. They are intentionally more difficult to pull apart and will require some force, but are easy to snap together. They can be snapped in multiple locations, multiple times without wear.
